Another painting selected by Teresa for review.

Very intersting. In late August, in late summer, he went on to the the island of Capri--by himself. Well, the evidence is clear that he was not exactly by himself unless the models were merely figments of his imagination. And it appears to me that there was a bit of frivolity here. But establishing a repoire is important, so who am I to question his motives. I am just glad nobody slipped and fell from the roof.

"I don't know who she is nor have I ever met her," stated Earl R. Stonebridge, "but she has a great talent for researching the best pieces and often forgotten works of art for us to enjoy." Stonebridge who resides south of Laguna Beach stated he hopes he gets to meet Teresa if she shows up in Laguna Beach for the annual art shows beginning in June.

Pipe Smoking Police Biker Dude
It is the ultimate statement of individual freedom, the reason the officer wears the badge. Protecting our freedom also includes protecting our right to smoke if we are 18 years or older. This is a great photograph. Congratulations for being on the ball with your camera.

Spring Garden, 20/03/11.
I like this. Such a variety of ingredients and the subject matter is uplifting. Gallery material. I have included this masterpiece in four or five of my Flickr galleries.

Isn't it fascinating that the first impression one gets from viewing this image is that pipe smoking must surely be a joy. It is truly a shame that society has become so generically uniform that a photo like this would be perceived as shameful.
By the way, does anyone recall that Walter Cronkite once smoked his pipe on his evening broadcasts

THE BIG QUESTION ABOUT THE ITEMS ON THE CHAIR
THE BIG QUESTION ABOUT THE ITEMS ON THE CHAIR
Painted by Vincent Van Gogh. Do you have the answer?
What is on the chair? What was so important to Vincent that he left it lay on the seat of the chair as he hurried to paint the cane chair. I think I know, but I would like to poll the viewers and get some responses, some answers. What these items are or were might unlock a little more about the mind of Vincent Van Gogh.

Lockheed Lodestar
This photograph taken by Ted Koston in 1967 is a real joy to view.
This is my first view of this plane. That is to say, I never knew it existed, thus the thrill of seeing a new plane is fun that is hard to explain.
Suddenly, I am 12 again, seeing another new aircraft. The inspiration for a new gallery: AIRCRAFT WITH SLEEK DESIGNS.
Did Kelly Johnson design this beauty? I will find out.

What's the Matter with Helen?
There's nothing the matter with Helen that I can see--she's a beauty. Thanks to Truus, Bob & Jan too! for their great post card collection on the Flickr photostream.

I added this classic and beautiful young lady featured on a postcard from the past to a number of galleries I thought were appropriate for her beautiful image. She was the type of young woman I was seeking in the late 50s. However, I never made it to Paris.

nobody's home
One of the most fascinating photographs I have viewed on Flickr. This is an amazing capture and I am amazed that such a dwelling is still standing. There are most likely many stories associated with this unique photo. Colors and entire image are perfect.

My Digital Version of Van Gogh's "The Mulberry Tree"
This electronic masterpiece by Keith Garsee is a tribute to a favorite and famous artist, Vincent van Gogh. The colors are quite right and there is texture. It is a masterpiece that would surely please Vincent.

Anais - Les Perles de Frany
Now boasting almost 800 Flickr Galleries, I could not resist making one more, PRETTY WOMEN...with the following text:
ANOTHER GALLERY, this one inspired by the beautiful and energetic blonde in poses to remember in the little black dress. Congratulations to Zeka DEFOND for a most dynamic photo. Check out his photostream on Flickr by following the link. Enjoy.
Petticoat Lane - 1930
PETTICOAT LANE, KANSAS CITY'S PLACE TO BE AT CHRISTMAS TIME...I remember this well. My aunt Dorothy used to take me downtown on the bus to see the Fairy Princess (don't laugh) at one of the major department stores, Emery, Byrd and Thayer.
Yes, a beautiful young lady with a wand. Instead of sitting on Santa's lap, I sat on the lap of the Princess and looked up into her beautiful eyes. If she asked me what I wanted, I most likely told her "...cowboy boots, Gene Autrey pistols, toy cars, trains, and lots more boy stuff.
Subconsciously, I probably wished she could have been my mother and one I could hug and be hugged by everyday. But my time with her was much too quick and ended with her sprinkling some sparkling Fairy dust on me and giving me a most electric hug. I remember how sweet she smelled; I remember her soft, curled hair sweeping gently across my face. Oh, the Fairy Princess was this young lad's sheer delight and I never gave Santa a thought. My aunt Dorothy was much older than the Fairy Princess, though she was pretty, she was nothing like the Princess.
Thankfully, it was my aunt and uncle who raised me from the time they pulled me out the orphanage at the age of 3 or 4 until I left home at the age of 18.
When I left home, I went seeking a Fairy Princess of my own. I think many men do the same.

rapture tune
HOW DO I SEE THIS PAINTING? IS IT MORE THAN A PAINTING, BUT AN ESSAY ABOUT OUR PURPOSE ON EARTH?
This is a consolidated work of extreme knowledge about a wide-array of subject matter, combined with what I would suspect is an eclectic philosophy, or the philosophy of one seeking wisdom of the ages.
There are symbols of a multitude of defining ideals, reminders of a search by past cultures and causes for the truth. Within this assortment of graphic excellence is a theme of simplicity, a kind of river of goodness trying to flow smoothly.
From my position as a viewer, I see grief and I see joy, but moreover, I see a hope that is present in all who are alive and seeking goodness and joy. It is the kind of painting that exercises one's mind. My congratulations to the artist whose talent created this graphic pleasure.

THIS IS A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME PHOTO...
My gratitude to Fred for use of this photo in my blog. The jet trails escaped my view until the last glance. There is much to think about in a photo of this nature, especially if one is elderly. Wow. This reminds me of the song, "Leavin' on a Jet Plane." What a way to go...

Cozy Inn
Most of us in our 60s will easily recall the numerous cocktail lounge or bar signs with the traditional martini glass with the olive, done up in neon. Catfuzz's photo is a traditional photo of such a great old memory. And to think there is still one around, immersing the night with fun, good times and laughter that fades back to the 40s. Thanks to Cattfuzz...

PANORAMA OF LAGUNA BEACH, ARTIST'S PARADISE
My first glimpse of Laguna Beach was in the late 50s. I knew then that the two of us would spend time together throughout the years. I have come and gone to Laguna numerous times. If only I could afford a luxury home on a cliff with an oceanfront view, life would be...almost perfect.

I have added this image to several more of my Flickr galleries. I now have nearly 800 galleries, many of a historical nature.
History is such a comforting subject in one's advancing years for several reasons. It is an intensely active subject without requiring the viewer or reader to be totally mobile. Whatsmore, the history I enjoy ends in the manner it should, in my opinion, with the victory celebrating the defeat of evil.
What will happen in the future, in a time when my generation will have exited, is still to be seen. I can only hope that the genes of our fighting and victorious forces of the past will remain dominant in future generations.
The recent victory over the infamous designer of the WTC tragedy gives me some assurance that our fighting men and women will prevail over the evils we have yet to meet. Robert

I AM AN AMERICAN WANDERING...
What better place than a beach scene like this to finish my novel, AN AMERICAN WANDERING. I began my novel in California and I hope to finish it soon, somewhere in Laguna or Santa Monica. This is pure serenity. You who took this photo and the others, you are an excellent photographer.
Downtown Laguna
THIS TREE HAS BECOME A LANDMARK OF LAGUNA BEACH...I recall it when I first arrived in Laguna many years ago.
It has grown throughout the years. It has always been a meeting place for young couples or relatives who meet to shop.
It is just one of the many landmarks that makes Laguna Beach a paradise for both residents and visitors. It is probably the finest real-estate sites in America.
From the airplane
One of the most perfect photos from an aircraft I have seen and I have been on many flights. Beautiful framing. Lighting is perfect and highlights the shadows. The clouds are also part of the mistique of such an image.
Peer Review
AN AMERICAN WANDERING...this would be the perfect cover for my new novel. I will contact the photographer to see if I can use this for my cover, for a fee, of course.

No Smoking in Kabukicho
I didn't think Japan would buy into this denial of civil rights like the USA has done. What a shame that this has been introduced to Japan. Warning to all Japanese smokers: If you enjoy smoking, if you enjoy your civil rights to smoke, now is the time to vote those out of offce who are writing such laws or you will soon be regimented like wards of the State. I have seen in happen in the USA.

1960 _ Gold Medal 994
Your gallery reminds me of my numerous capers up and down the South China Sea, my midnight voyages from Hong Kong to Macao, my narrow escapes in Old Shanghai as I chased the Brass Monkey and the Jade Dragon.
Yes, the covers of your pocket novels conjure up many fond and lusty memories of a time before the French were driven out of China. Your selection is outstanding and will cause me to settle back and read about the times of Oriental intrique...until I doze off.

Imressions of Guthrie by James Kendall
IMPRESSIONS OF GUTHRIE, OKLAHOMA By James Kendall. It is a watercolor and an immediate favorite of mine. There is a quality about this, a tone or suggestion that touches me personally. I believe it is the lonliness I experienced and have experience at various times throughout my life during my search for a love lost, a purpose for being on earth, a reason for continuing. For me, it has some strange emotions, emotions however that no longer matter due to my age. At this point in time, I can only recall myself 30 years ago, searching, searching, searching. What did I find? I found that in this temporal world, it is the fond memories that are the treasures; it is the ability to record those memories either through art or literature that makes any difference to the person who has had the experience, the people who have experience similar emotions. In this respect, all of us who have suffered some despondency of a serious nature can assemble in spirit knowing that in some small way, we found a way to survive. For those still in their youth, keep searching and do not stop until you find the person for whom you search.
THIS IS ONE MASTERPIECE...in my opinion. It transcends time and the memories of a lifetime for me, personally. I admire your talent and style. Your compositions make viewing art a joy.
