What is the story on these fruits anyway? I have noted that many Asian countries have banned these fruits. Why?

Durian fruit are very much an acquired taste. Next time you're in an Asian grocery, look for one. You'll spot it easily -- it's huge, and it's got sharp spines all over it.
ReplyDeleteThe surprise is how it smells. Most people find the odor overwhelming and even horrifying. But some people think it's delicious.
In the same groceries, you can find cookies flavored with durian. If you're not brave enough to try the fruit itself, try the cookies.
