This is my memory of Manhattan Beach when I first viewed this beautiful little town in the South Bay area of the California coast west of Los Angeles.
One of Manhattan Beach's most unique geographical feature is the panoramic view one enjoys atop the hill when one first sees the vast Pacific and its horizon. It was my first view of the Pacific and remains vivid in my mind even after more than 50 years. I first saw Manhattan Beach in the summer of 1959.
